The strike took place just days before a scheduled meeting of Donald Trump&#8217;s &#8220;Board of Peace&#8221;. The Israeli military said the strikes were carried out in response to ceasefire violations by Hamas while Hamas condemned the attacks as a \u201cmassacre\u201d of displaced civilians and a serious breach of the truce. The violence occurred despite a US-brokered ceasefire agreement, with both sides accusing each other of violations.
